/6 Harness for Big BLock conversion
« on: June 02, 2007, 12:14:49 AM »

Just gathering info and parts for my upgrade. I am going to put a 1977 400/4bbl/727 into my 1970 Swinger. I have the donor car, a 1977 Newport, B Body headers, Manual box, 8 3/4 741 case posi rear, and slightly bigger T-bars for the project. Question is, can I still use the existing harness, or does it have to be upgraded? The Dart has A/C, PS, and a column shift automatic. I am trying to make this work with as little as possible, due to expenses pouring into a 1972 Charger SE project that is in the body shop right now. I know I will have to upgrade the ignition to an electronic unit, just because the Lean Burn System in the Newport is way out dated. Any thoughts, comments, help? Am new to the site, and can use all the help I can get.

Thanks in advance!! bbd sign

/6 and big block wire harnesses are the same. The small block harness needs modification (lengthen the coil wire) to work with a /6 or big block.

Thanx for the response. I had a feeling it would work, but just wanted to make sure before I ended up not being able to get it going. thank you
