correct master cylinder ?
« on: June 10, 2007, 07:11:43 AM »

Hey everyone im replacing brakes on a 69dart gt with manual drum brakes i got a new master cylinder but i think its wrong the one on the car has a cap thats held down with a steel wire . also the push rod fron the brake pedal seems to not want to come out the new master has no pushrod and has a bolt on cover . does any have a clue on if that push rod comes out i pulled on it and ripped the guts out of the old master but the rods still stuck ?

69 has the bolt to hold the cap on...theres a small o ring on the rod that holds it in the master. now that u have the guts ripped out, slice said guts open to reveal o ring on end of rod and it will pull out...if u dont cut too far, u should be able to reuse pushrod and o ring.
