I just cut the gaskets and lifted it out. Wish I wouldn't have. My '67 gasket was in good shape I didn't realize they don't repop the '67. 

As for access to the top of the hoop, hole saw holes in the floor under the hoop ends and drop it through the floor. Weld it up, raise it, then attach your base plates.

Yes you can remove the windshield and back window and reuse them. Just be carefull when taking them out. I used a little bit of varsol to help loosen the butyl caulk that is used to seal the window to the gasket and gasket to the body.
I installed my cage without taking out the windows.
When you are installing the windshield and back window do not use Urethane as it gets too hard and becomes a permanent installation and you will need to cut the gasket out making it unusable. You must use Butyl rubber because it remains plyable and does not harden.
I am in the process of installing both pieces of glass this week, hopefully.
One more thing, if you are putting in new trim clips put a small amount of butyl around the screws that hold the clips in place to make sure no water will leak at the screw holes

When I tried to reinstall my windsheild, I tried using the butyl caulk rope and the windsheild gasket, that I purchased from Yearone, and cracked the windsheild ................tried it again with a spare and cracked that one to .............. I had 1 windsheild left, and decided to have a profesional do the install and opted to get a new windsheild and gasket................he came out and installed the windsheild with the gasket and no butyl .....................I inquired why he did not use the butyl, and he said that the reproduced gaskets do not need the butyl ...........the glass just slips into the gasket and you use the old string around the gasket to install into the frame, but first spray some witherstriping lube onto the gasket, and then use a tool that looks like a bent flathead screw driver to pull the rest of the gasket out to sit flush.
So if you try to use that sticky butyl caulk rope, be advised that you will most likely have a problem or end up braking the glass.

I plan on using butyl that is in a caulking tube. I have spoken to a few guys and that is what they suggested.
To install the rear windshield a rope will be needed to pull the rubber gasket lip over the pinchweld.
On the front, the gasket goes on first and then the windshield is installed and the gasket is locked in place within its self.
Just curious as to how much you were charged to install the glass. I was quoted $200 each to install, and I have all the parts (live in Canada).
I am cheap so I am trying it my self, I don't have any spares either.
Keeping my fingers crossed.

I purchased a new windshield so the install was free..........cost me around 200.00 to 250.00 if I remember correctly.
As for the install of the front windshield the guy put the gasket around the glass and put a rope/string around the outside lip of the gasket raised the entire assembly to the windsheild frame and started by putting the bottom lip of the gasket into the bottom of the windsheild frame on the outside, then worked from each side up to the top with the rope/string pulling it from the inside of the car with no butyl at all. hope this helps.

Yes, the windshield gasket is availible for the 70-72 Darts, as I had a shop put a new windshield and gasket in my sons 72 Dart hardtop in 2005. The gasket was purchased from Tom Race at R/T Specialties.  www.rtspecialties.net
