I measured those street tires and they are 28" tall and 10" wide at their widest. The width of the actual tread is a little smaller. The best time so far has been 12.96 at 104 with the 1.81 60'.

we have 1" between leaf spring and sidewall of tires at closest pt., and on the other side we have 1/2" between fenderwell and sidewall closest pt. It looks like you can't stick much wider of a tire in there, any chance you can go taller? That will get you a little bigger contact patch.

I did some measuring on some actual, mounted drag radials and found something interesting. M&H drag radials are narrower than the competition. I checked and the 275/60r15 would fit in the wheel wells of a dodge dart just fine, it seems that M&H tires are narrower in the sidewall than comparable tires in the 275 size. In fact the 275/60 M&H measured out the same as the 255/65r15 I used to have. This tire is actually slightly narrower in the sidewall than my 265/50 tires. If you stick these tires on a 7" wheel, then they will suck in another 1/2". Tread Width: 8.8" Section Width: 10.6" Diameter: 28.0" Circumference: 88.0" Rim Size: 8.0" Actual 275/60 tire: http://www.mandhtires.com/product_videos/275_60_15.wmvThis is a 325 version of that tire:
