I can't decide why you guys are removing the undercoating. Weight? Show car? I realize for modification but ???? Buy the way this stuff is asbestos.
The little bit I removed from my barracuda involved a slow, long stroke, air chizel with a sharpened chizel bit. It worked great, blew big chunks off

with very  little dust,  but did penetrate into the substrate more than I would have liked. The paint is beautiful underneath. I think its crazy to disturb this stuff if you don't have to. If you use this method ,try dulling the corners of the chezel bit to decrease the substrate penetration.
