Looks great! I remember my boss (I was 21 at the time so in the early 80"s) skinning a '70 cuda hood and grafting it onto a '69 RR, most folk thought it stock. I've got the beginnings of an airgrabber grafted into my '64 Dart hood, fits the frame like it was made for it Just a little more welding and some forming of the underhood 'glass and it should be fun Will Hey, was that car featured in Autobuff? I remember a roadrunner with a cuda hood with a naked chick next to it. I probably have it somewhere. Good memory, that was the car Joe Savino metal finished the car and did the paint work, he's the one who thought me pick and file/lead work .. I could prolly remember the guy who owned the runner .. Dan something .. he's on the cover too if I recall

I like the look. It's amazing what you can do with left over and cast aside parts. Sure would like to see this thing painted and on the road! Greg

I need some advice from all you body work types out there.
I just took the car in to a body work guy to get an estimate on doing the hood. He doesn't think he'll be able to weld the skin onto the hood without destroying/warping the crap out of it. I gotta believe this is a do-able job, people weld up long runs on quarters all the time. Is this guy just blowing smoke or did I destroy my twin hump hood for nothing?

Yeah... You need to find a body guy with welding skills.

cu440da, You're definately off to a good start and the combo looks awesome. However, most body shops these days don't have someone qualified to weld up something like that without destroying both pieces (warping the heck out of it). You need to go to more of a custom street rod type shop who has a guy who is good at tigging sheet metal. He'd know about skipping around and how long to make each weld segment before distortion...

Dave, My buddy Tim could do this. When he'd have time is another matter... He is up in Forest Lake, I'll ask him for you. he can do the paint and all... His next project by the way is a hemi-powered Airflow. Not afraid of a challenge.
Later! Joel
