throttle linkage pics needed
« on: July 02, 2007, 11:14:50 AM »

Has anyone here used the stock throttle rods for a /6-V8 conversion?  Does anyone have a picture of the throttle linkage for a slant 6 early A?  I'm in the process of smoothing the  firewall on my 66 and am trying to decide if I can run the stock linkage for my big block, or if I need to weld up the holes and use a pedal and cable from a late model A body.  And I can't find my linkage in my garage, so I need to know what it looks like.

S6 uses a twist/rod set up.  The V8 uses a different pedal assy and different holes in the firewall.

Thats what I'm thiking.  I pulled a gas pedal assembly off a 72 valiant last weekend that I'll probably end up using.  I didn't realize early A's used different set-ups for /6 and v8 cars.  At first, I thought the throttle rod would be really cool if I could get it to work, but now it looks like more of a pain.  cable it is then.
