question on electronic ignition systems
« on: July 05, 2007, 07:06:32 AM »

I have a electronic ignition system on my car now with the ECU box, ballast, etc.., If I convert over to the Moper Performance Ignition box (looks just like the MSD 6AL, they might even make it for Mopar) what all is eliminated from the old electronic system

it eliminates the old control box and the ballast resistor ... would also recommend a new coil with the setup but you can run the old one if you like ....   duster

I would check first to see if you can eliminate the ballast resistor with the Mopar ECU. I have MSD 6al on mine and they say right in the directions you can remove the ballast......better safe than sorry.
