Is a ballast needed if you run a MSD 6A box

I am going to be running a Moper Performance electronic distributor and a MSD 6AL ignition box, is a ballast resistor needed , I was told no, only a good coil is the only other compentent needed for the ignition, is this correct

NO it's not needed..... Just take the wires and twist them together. the box will control the rest..yes on the good coil...

Use the blaster 2 coil and get rid of the ballast resistor
