Someone here must know of a good late model seat belt swap for the 67 - 68- 69 Dart / Valiant. These original seat belt units are driving me NUTS

I have been looking at the late 70s early 80s Dodge truck belts. Looks like they might do the trick. Coil reel on the floor and second loop up top, should keep everything at the door post and clean it up some to.

I would like a source also. My Duster is my daily driver and new seatbelts (or just the retractors) would be too cool.

That Wesco unit looks promising. Has anyone here ever used it?

Richard (The Bankers Toy) recommended the Wesco belts to me and I did an install and posted it a while ago. I'm not sure if you can still find it, if not I still have the pics.

You can probably find lots of good interchangable ones at the yards .The newer trucks like the silverado or rams probably are good candidates.

I installed the Wesco belts back in 2004 when I restored the Dart's interior and they have worked out very well and they are a SUPERIOR design to the factory belts. I am AMAZED that Chrysler was able to get that REALLY LAME two piece shoulder/lap belt assemble approved, as just normal moving around on the seat it's very easy to have the shoulder belt latch come off of the "peg" that attaches it to the lap belt. I'm sure that MANY people have been seriously hurt or killed with those belts! By the way, the Wesco belts were an easy install as I was able to mount them in all of the original factory mounting locations. Richard

There's an article in the August Car Craft about installing inertia style seat belts in an early Chevelle. I didn't read it yet, but I'm pretty sure they were available for multiple applications. I'll look at it later and get back to you.

So on a 69 Dart is there a place to anchor the top part of the seat belt. I installed a new headliner a while ago but don't remember any anchor points. If so where abouts is the hole (inches away from ....) ?

On my cuda it was just about directly above the leading edge of the rear quarter window.

On my son's 72 Dart Swinger, it looks to be about 4.5 inches from the leading edge of the quarter window's glass chrome strip/weatherstrip that's between the quarter window and the door window glass.
