Last night was spent fab'n up the brackets and mounting the fuel cell. Tonight will be spent with the plasma cutter taking out more of the old frame and flooring. Also laying out where the roll cage will mount...also custom built. Then once the car is together...we pull it apart for paint..

Which tank is that? I have been looking at how to mount my tank. I like the low in the trunk fit. I want it to plum out the side throught the stock location.

Here is one from the inside...We will take more pictures tonight with more of the old frame and sheet metal cut out..It looks rough now but what we wanted was to keep as much of the interior as we could to maintain structural strenght until the new frame, braces etc was in and welded solid..Then once that is done we will remove the rest of the old metal which will be replaced with bead rolled metal.

Cool so far ! If you can try to get a pic from under the car from the tranny brace/crossover back towards the back bumper  where it's welded in at the back.

Thanx

We have taken pictures of bits and pieces of the car but nothing complete...will also do that tonight. Its going to look a little strange though..it still has the stock wheels on the front. That is the next project of getting the front bolt pattern taken car of for the centerlines.

thats cool, i have a 67 post and i was planning on ladder bars and coil overs with stock rails, but now i dont want it anymore.  the pics almost make me want to continue working on it. i have 28x11.50s on it and ithink it just looks tuff with the posts. i liek them because they are less common and have an all business look to them. do you have to cover the bottom of the cell, or is that just for plastic cells?

Hemi Jay...
In the rear window my son wrote "Chevy Killer"

As far as the rear suspension it was not as hard to do as I thought. As long as you get the crossmember is square with the world you will be fine. From what I have been told and understand the ladder bars are better for weight transfer and street driven..
Most of the parts that we used were from Chris Alston Chassisworks.. The rest was from other chassis companies like Art Morrison. When we started the project...we decided that it would over built. What I mean by that is when you look at the instructions on back halfing a car..the Alston instructions go in and cut everything from rocker panel to rocker panel, frrom behind the seat to rear bumper. What we did was cut out enough to get the crossmemeber and new rails welded in place before we started cutting out the stock frame.
If you seen detail pictures of our build it may look nasty right now but NOTHING moved. The body lines stayed, doors shut just like they did..The body was not free to move around.
But anyway to answer your question...I would suggest ladder bars

B1Valiant...
That scoop that you have on your car is what he wants on his dart...I seen one on a 67 SS Chevelle that had a new K&N filter that mounts right inside the scoop..Here is a picture of it. The owner of the car said that the car didnt slow down with doing the breather like this...
