Hey guys do you have to remove the k frame when removing the torsion bars? And what are the purpose of the clips at the rear of the bars? thanks

the clips stop the t-bars from sliding out of the "socket" hole... you do not have to remove the k frame to take the bars out. just loosen the t-bar adjuster bolt all of the way down to release all of the tension off the bars. remove those little clips, and the bars slide out from the back. if theyre stuck in, you may need the appropriate tool to clamp onto the bar so you can hammer them out. no big deal as long as theyre not frozen in. goodluck...

Ok like stated above let off the bolt that holds the pressure on them. Pop out the rear clip. You may need to hit it ahead to get the clip out. Now the end that fits into the Kmember has a rubber spring like thing in it and can bind up the bar from just sliding out. You may find that you need to tap the Kmember end (that the ball end of that bolt sits in) up or down some to get the bar to be completely loose. Have a buddy watch the cross member end to see when it is laying there loose. If you pay attention to the hex end closely you will not need any puller. Now worse comes to worse one wrap with duct tape one shop rag and vice grips as tight as you can. Then just a light tap tap on the side of the grips and she will slide right out. I put a bit of anit-size on my end when re-installing them.

What helped me out a lot was going to the hardware store and buying a .75" (the biggest they had) cable clamp, if you can get bigger (maybe an inch) it would be better. This will save you money on buying the tool. It only cost me $3 and it worked great.

If you are planning on reusing the bars do not gouge them trying to get them out. If you do they will definitely start a crack and break at that point.

I used 3 pairs of vice grips on mine, 1 pair would just slip. I plan on using mine for horseshoe pins  |

Thanks guys I got my bars out no problems, Is There any tricks on installing them, I have the k frame out I will be rebuilding the whole front end, thanks

reverse procedure, but make sure the lcas are about where they were when you took them off, other wise they will be 60* to high or low

Don't mix them up side to side. Put them back in the side they came out of.
