1) What is the official ruling on "swap / trades"?
2) How about reinstating the "For Sale" section for "super duper" members only. Let say 500 posts? If you've been here for 500 posts...chances are you've done some previous dealings with others on the site and should have a stellar reputation by then. If you have a trash rep., well, no ones gonna buy from you anyhow.
I've never charged a high price for anything, never ripped anyone, in fact, gave quite a bit away, as many members here have done. Its kind of a dis-service that when I clear out a car and have part X, Y, and Z available and a below market (fair - non ebay gouge), that i can't offer the parts to others on the list. Same goes with a car, and I feel kinda "dirty" posting just a like to a sale on ebag or such.
I want to offer a vehicle as a swap...but how on this list? (see question 1).

Totally agree 100% with bbscamp. I've bought stuff on here....ask anybody I bought stuff from, always paid up and never tried to create trouble. Never really sold anything though. I do, however, have some stuff I could post for sale but I'm not going to register at Moparts juts to do that.

Nope. Free giveaways only. If there's a possibility the deal can go bad, there's a possibility I'll again be threatened for running a scam site. I'm done with that crap.
By the way, I KNOW there are alot of great guys here, it pisses me off that I have to be strict about things - I really wish there was an asshole detector that I could use for new members - that would solve alot of issues.

OK...I think I found an official A$$HOLE detector guy  What do you all think? Will this guy keep all the bad guys away? We could let him preapprove all new members  if they come out walkin there good to go.....If they get thru, then we'll let this one finish them off.... From "for sale" to "assholes". Man what a slide that was. Bill, assholes are easy to detect, they wear ties and write estimates for insurance company's. Everytime one walks into my shop, somehow the radio magically lowers the volume all by it self. I guess thats so I can hear the shit their slinging.   |

OK, on a serious note. What if I established a "FOR SALE" list off site for members, would you link to it? You could put a disclaimer in that its only a link and you have nothing to do with it. Would you be up for that?

I just wanted to do something for the members here only, it would not be for outsiders, and would probably want a minimum amount of time and posts here before you could sell on that site. I would be willing to do it if everyone really wants it, I am not going to get anything out of it except for a place to buy and trade parts. My biggest concern is that even though there are other sites out there, I don't know the people I am dealing with, and I have had a few run ins with scammers on the other sites. If I made it private (non-public) available for the  members only, then its a little more trustworthy and there have been a lot of people here wanting a for sale site again. Just a thought, but something that I have been considering. Since I want a link from the site here, I really want to get Bill's approval, if he says no, then I will leave it at that. |
