Hey ...how about reinstating the forsale section?

I know that our only concern is giving our own Club members a shot at the thing we have and what they might need, Yeah ! there's plenty of Folks out there looking for A-body stuff now more than ever, But like I said I would like to see our members get the things they need for there cars
before selling to total strangers,
Although I know there are still plenty of swapmeets around and local ad sites, so I suppose this is our only measure of recourse, There is a local club here in Ga, called Nth Ga Mopar Club . and they have a site for there club and for anyone to access, but in order to sale on there they have to be members who pays Dues. ( Membership fee's) and this intitles them to sale there stuff on line, Just a thought?

Many years ago I was asked to join this club, but I declined. I much rather be somewhere
with folks that are not really concern with Modifications to there cars Wink

Well as a member and somone that spent more time in the forsale section than any where else on this site I must say I really miss it!! Sad

Sure I'd link to an outside source - like a sticky thread in the off-topic. For sale stuff is necessary in car building. I just can't stand to have it hear anymore because of the threats when something goes bad. If someone wants to do a for sale off-site and take on the abuse, I'm happy to add a link here....

. We all would appreciate it.

I have a couple of ideas you can entertain,
Make everybody use their real name instead of a *user* name. (this works for many reasons besides selling)
On all for sale ads make them list their/parts location.
Or just leave it the way it is and have people sell on Ebay/Craigs list........

Lessons learned:

Ads with no location or prices need to be deleted. If someone is serious about selling something, they'll wise up.

Continuous whiners need to be banned.

If someone has been ripped off, the seller should be on "The List".

There could also be a list of people that are good to deal with.

I can't stand ebay, I would rather deal with the members on B.B.D. It's a shame that a few idiots screwed up the for sale section.

members and ALL of my transactions have been fantastic in every way, so I was also REALLY sad to see the for sale section go away. It's just a shame that a few bad apples have the power to ruin it for so many other good folks. Sad

As far as being held responsible for any deals that may go bad Bill, Craigs List, the local newspapers, Mopar magazine's like MCG and all of the other sources that allow personal ad's, all have a written disclaimer that all sellers and buyers MUST agree to before they can sell or buy. This disclaimer protects the hosting source, their employess and other related folks from any legal liabilities. Would this be a possiblity here on bbd sign

to solve the problems that led you to delete the for sale section?

Whomever decides to the for sale section, use a web form with required fields such as name, contact info, location, etc. That in itself will weed out most of the dildos. Have notifications sent to yourself with this information, and if it looks erroneous, whack the post. You could also do some coding to verify that some of the data is in fact real, even before it is posted.

I have been a member on of this site for the past 5 years. Offered parts to members for free when they needed them.
I go to another site and list parts for sale and I get a reply to my post oh your new here how do we know we can trust you are you a member of any other site.
This came from some one I never even heard of.
So yes I would like to be able to sell through this site or a link. Never had any problems with members here and I was accepted as a new member.

The amount of time it takes to moniter this site nowdays has got to be unreal and the "for sale" site must be a large part of it. Give him a break.......the guy's got a life. Between RMS all day, taking calls and dealing with a lot of dumb questions, and the work on this site I'd be surprized if he has any life.
It's very obvious that Bill takes a great deal of pride in his product. Before I bought the Alterkation I called many times and he was always available to answer my questions.
I don't know how he does it and I'm all for lightening has load so he's around to answer our dumb questions for a long time to come.

Ok, I'll explain this again. We had rules. If theres no location or price, the post gets deleted.... oh so simple, and not really a big deal. Other sites are extremely strict with this stuff, so I figured, 2 little rules will be easy to follow without any problems.

So I delete posts that are lacking one or the other, as per a sticky topic right in the for sale forum.

In return, on a weekly basis, I got emails like this...

"What you got somethin up your ass about me?!?! I didnt do a fuckin thing wrong on your damn website but you gotta bug up your ass so you delete my fuckin post. Probably cause i didnt buy your products like the rest of these assholes on here you dont want me takin up your space. Well fuck you too asshole. You better hope i dont catch you at one of the shows cause ill knock yer ass all the way across the parking lot. dickhead"

Sorry, but after 30 or so emails like that I had enough, considering I don't gain anything from the for sale board. It was just a nice thing for members to supply each other. I dealt with the crap as long as I could stand.
What really grinds me is that they always seem to throw in RMS, like I'm forcing my stuff down everyone's throat here, despite my monstrous attempts to keep bigblockdart separate from the company. I never bring up my own stuff on here unless someone asks, but it doesn't seem to matter.
I just don't need it.

Yeah, I got some pretty nasty ones from guys that got pissed off about me enforcing the rules too...I just gave up trying to be the nice guy, and yeah, I apologize for sometimes loosing my temper madwife

I've said it before andI'll say it again....Bill Reilly and the rest of the mods and gods that look after this site should be commended for the time and effort that they put into it. I spend hours and hours on this site and only read half the posts...they gotta read 'em all. It must take up a shit load of time...but they still do it. For themselves??? Nope..it's for US!!! Bill even takes the time to answer personal emails...at least he has for me..and Im sure the rest do it too. As far as the losers that give them a hard time about stupid stuff...it just proves that they're just that ...losers. I think the wanted section works just fine and does the same thing as far as exchanging things between members. I buy enough stuff I don't need with ebag and craigslist (by the way type it in and forget the "S" as in craiglist dot I did that at work by mistake and the E police raided my office) and swap meets etc. The for sale section in any forum gets abused by a minority of people who have one thing in mind and it involves money not parts or the hobby.

This country has gone to shit because most out there are to chickenshit to stand up to the whining minorities/losers and criminals because they are too afraid of what someone might say, or do.

As far as "moderators" in general, and I am not refering to anyone or any individual here, just making a broad sweeping refrence to ALL web sites on the net, it has been my expierence that there needs to be a "BIASED ASSHOLE LIER SCUMBAG BUDDIES ABOVE ALL ELSE MODERATOR" detector.

Seems that there are a lot of sites that have people who, simply because they have a lot of posts or because they are/were gay butt buddies from the fAIRyForce, or whatever, get a so called moderators position and then they start deleting others posts, or altering the text in the posts to suit what THEY think it should say or whatever other loser excuse they can come up with OR even better yet, they attemt to break into someones pc using the web site they are mods for (ACTUALLY happened). I don't give a F what anyone else on this planet calls it, but I call it censorship and criminalistic, and there IS NO ROOM on this planet for it, again as I said if we were living in Natzi Germany or China it might be ok, but not in this SO CALLED free world of today. If your an ass that alters others posts because "your a moderator and HAVE THE POWER" and you don't like what someone said or don't agree, then YOU TOO NEED A LEAD LABOTOMY and I would feel no pity if I heard you had recieved your just reward.

Grow a set Bill, put the for sale section back up and try it the way I suggest, posting the wrong doers in a sticky thread and limiting sellers to those who have been members for either a year or after 100 or 200 posts, you may find the site will grow some more and the peeps here will be happier and may even be able to find an actual deal on some needed parts from someone they can feel some trust towards because it isn't just some nameless fleabag loser or fagslist crap. As far as fear of past threats from sellers who had their posts deleted, if they are still mad, taking away the for sale section wasn't gonna make them happier anyway and your just alienating good users because of it. Proven by the number of posts in this thread in the first place.

Just my thoughts and ramblings on a rainy saturday whilst searching for parts. To bad none of the good peeps here will get a chance to help me find my part and make a few bucks for their project, all because the site has no back bone.
