How much do those cost? I've had a little instruction in welding, like just a few minutes. I've done gas, stick, MIG, and TIG. I found TIG to be the easiest. Like everything, practice makes perfect. If the welds are lumpy, you need more heat. If you get holes, you need less heat or more rod.

Make sure the lense for your mask is not too dark. Tig welding does not produce as much light as stick welding so it can be hard to see what you are doing with a dark lense. Tig welding is not hard. It is a lot like gas welding but a lot cleaner and more precise.

Check out the Monster Garage book How To Weld Damn Near Anything. Great book, under 20 bucks, in the book store in the automotive section.

Best advice for learning to TIG weld......Books can help get you started but the main thing is>>>>>...........PRACTICE, PRACTICE and more PRACTICE. The beads you lay down should look like coins on their side. Once they look like that , you got it down.
