If you've got a welder, you can make your own very easily.

Here's from the tech pages.  There's other ways to do it like putting the big side vertical in which case you'll need to go through the floor but this way is easier if you're not building a monster.  I can email pics of that but if you seach the site there's many folks who have done it both ways very nicely.  Your 66 will be a bit different but the idea is the same.  The ones  bbscamp posted are a 64 I think and very similar to your car.  Didn't you use 2X2 Mike?

Here are mine.  I decided to go vertical for strength.  Goodluck.  Show us some pics when you're done.

junkmanhwy666 , Those that mopowers posted above on his car are the way you want to go.  Cut through the floor in baby steps once you get it close then grind & fit, grind & fit, grind & fit until the connectors just fit through.  I like the hook under and up the front of the T bar cross member mopowers, and the big plug weld holes.  That car is gonna rock.

I used 1x2...not the strongest, but still an improvement.  Plus I had the material kicking around the shop.  I didn't want to cut the floor and I needed to keep space above the connectors for the Ebrake cable routing.  Made them myself is ~ 1 hr.   I pocketed them into the rear frame rail and added a flat "T" to the front to attach to the crossmember.

If you have already installed them, how do they fit? Any pictures?

I have the connectors on. They fit ok. I've seen nicer ones but they will work. I've test fit the boxes and they will go on ok too. These are the parts that came from autorust.

Man had a hell of a time today getting the old E brake cable out of the location of the crossmember where it mounts in the frame. After an hr I got it worked out.

Anyway when you guys do frame connectors on early A bodies what are you doing to re-locate the E-brake cable assembly?
thanks

I'm not sure but lokar wants you to buy from one of there retailers like Jags or Summit. I think I paid less then $200. for handle and cables. I did it this way because I have FORD (wilwoods) disks on the dana and the Mopar cable ends wouldn't work. I'm not sure where, but someone had a post on bbd sign with pics of this setup. If you can find those pics you can see how E-Z this setup is. Hope this helps.

I used 2x3 box and laid it down flat, and did not have to beat on the floor to much and they fit real nice, tee in the front the way the tech page shows you on bbd sign

I used 1.5X1.5 tubular steel but it was thicker than the usual stuff. I was able to keep the stock routing for my E-brake since my connectors are welded to the side of the rear frame rails and gusseted at the front.

BTW the early a-body convertibles and 4-speed car came with torque boxes
