I was wondering if anyone has put a non-dart hood scoop on their dart? Maybe something like a challenger rally hood scoop or even a non-mopar hood scoop for that matter. Maybe just a universal fiberglass one?

I did see a Demon with a Challenger T/A scoop on it once. it looked pretty bad ass.
problem being those scoops are durn hard to find standalone (and of a decent quality)

I'm basically looking for something low in height with straight edges.. I've shaved all the side moldings and markers on my dart and it gives it a very clean, straight lines kind of look. I need a hood scoop with that same flow. I'm leaning towards a Challenger RT hood scoop. I'm sure I'd have to narrow and shorten it so it would be more in proportion to a 71 Swinger hood though. Anyone know whos sells a good quality RT hood scoop? Thanks.

You may have a problem with doing that. The Challenger hood is alot longer than an A-body hood. I was going to do that with my hood because I have a Challenger hood skin. You would need to remove 6-9" off the front or the back of the hood skin, and because it's raised and contoured my thoughts were it would look strange once shortened to fit.

I have a '73 cuda powerbulge hood skin and came to the same conclusion. The scoop is not as long as the challenger rt hood but it has too many lenghtwise ribs in addition to the two that are on my '70 darts hood allready. Too busy for me. I like your cuda runner set up and am on the hunt for a suitable hood to pillage for its skin.

Yeah, I see what you're saying. Still, I think I'll opt for a fiberglass one. I've seen them for other newer dodge cars, I just don't remember where. If I can get one for cheap then I'll cut it up and shrink it down to something that would be in proportion to the Dart hood.

a 70 Challenger R/T hood on a Dart? Maybe would look better on a 70+ Dart, they have more rounded lines and it may look better on one of those. for the earlier 67-69 Darts, ive seen em with the scoops that were on the 67 GTX cars and it looked good

Did you shave the drip rails? It's a lot of work but looks awesome when done, most people won't know they're gone but they know someting is different... Yup, drip rails too. Once I stripped the vinyl top off the roof those rails just seemed to stand out way too much. In fact it looks like we have the same taste cause my door handles are shaved as well.

The B-Body hood scoop that is shown on the GTX above, was originally made for the 1967 WO Dodge and 67 RO Plymouth B-Body Super Stock cars. The one on my 66 Coronet is a bolt on fiberglass unit that was produced and sold by a company that is no longer around, but other companies are making this same scoop in two different heights. The 2.5" high version like on my car and a 5" high version. I REALLY like the lower version scoop, as it's much less to look over on the street and as far as delivering fresh air to the carb goes, it works very well on my Coronet. Richard
