This is not shiite...

It is a rare day when I drive our Dart around town that someone does not come up and comment on the car or how a cousin had one like it or something like that...They all want to see the engine and ask other questions...

We always get smiles and nods of approval at intersections, and of course little street challenges from new Vettes or a ricer or two..

Once in a while an early Mustang, Camaro or Chevelle side up and nod, but they usually shy away from the challenge, if you know what I mean..

Anyhow, it's cool that people come up to us in Parking lots to talk about the car, and the best part is that it's not all old foggies and 70's hold-outs like myself, but also young kids, in their mid to late teens and twenty-somethings..

I can only hope that seeing and hearing a 60's muscle car in the flesh stirrs and awakens something in them to make them want to create one of their own...

Because that's exactly what got Me going, back in the day...

It's funny when folks come over the house. Most of them reffer to the 69 dart as a Charger. It's even funnier when I tell them the Charger's on Jacks, and that's a Dodge Dart their reffering too.
Most folks in town know my rides, before they know me.

I love driving my 63.  It seems to just draw more attention then my Dart used to when I owned it.  But I did like the older guy who told my son he had a Dart like his years ago and it was stock with a 340 six pack.      I didn't waste my breath trying to tell him no way.   Ron

Most people say "I used to have a roadrunner just like this!" I had one guy stop last month that saw the back of the Dart from the open garage door and asked "Is this a 68 or 69 Dart?" I was pretty shocked because it had no taillights, bumper, or badges on it. The guy really knew his cars!

the desire is there, but the prices scare em away. a-bodies are the only real entry for kids now into the mopar world. i have a few friends who are barely turning 21-22 about now but got their rides 2-3 years ago, we have a mopar club, and is nearly all a-bodies. i just found out my ex gf's 17 y/o cousin got a 74+ Duster, maybe inspired by all the times id go pick her up and shake the floors of the house pulling into the driveway, gonna have to pay him a visit and maybe talk him into getting a big block for it

i took my brother-in-law out to see some buddies cars one day. they fresh down from 4 hours north of thunder bay. he had a swinger. 340 4 bbl. could pull te wheels by the time we got home.

  There's  a guy in our club over here with a 69 RR, he got stopped at a filling station by a guy who asked "What is it?" He replied "It's a Road Runner" The guy say's "Yeah, I know that's what you CALL it, but what is it REALLY?" Our man say's " No, really, it's a Road Runner." The guy turns up his nose and walks off saying "Yeah, right... And I bet the horn goes "Beep Beep", doesn't it?"

My car has been referred to as a JOE DIRT car before. Not sure how to take that though.

I always get the "thumbs up" in the Satellite convertible. My girlfriend asks me if that happens alot and I say "Yes it does."

I had a kid say it was a GTO and then told his buddies that he really knows his old cars. 

The Dart is a different story. I get the "My dad a a Dart with a slant six." I tell them that mine has a 440 and they just look dumbfounded.

Yeah tell me about it...........I've heard it all with my car...........First off noone around these parts have ever seen a car like mine.  I always have someone asking me something about my every time I go to the gas station.

Just the other day their were some pretty hot looking girls at the pump. I rolled up in my car almost everyone turned = my car is loud.

They asked me......How much horsepower does your car have. I reply 600hp.  I was lying.....trying to impress the ladies........OH YEAH

He talks smack at work about the Dart, since he want come to track he don't now what I run. So the other night he started up smack talking, so to hush him up, I told him my times and that I wouldn't race him on the street. Now, since he know I want race him on street he's talking even more smack!! So yea, you do have to be special to drive a . Cause I'm doing all I can too keep from dragging this fool  all thru Memphis!!

I get a lot of mixed looks when driving the Demon around. Most of them thumbs up or a hoot 'n holler out the window, but sometimes those punks in their Japo-shitboxes or a new Mustang will want to race me. I just ignore most of 'em.

BUT I was at the gas station the other day when some kid in his 20s came over and said, "my friend's got a Mustang just like this one!" It took every last ounce of self control to prevent myself from shoving that gas hose up his ass.

Not worth the hassle....Tell him to build something that's worth lining up with...rustang they all sound the same

A few years ago, a buddy and I were out in his 65 and my 73. A kid in a fart can and sticker equipped Hyu-onda scowled at us and tried like hell (but did not succeed) to light 'em up as he rolled into the diner we were leaving. After we quit laughing, we showed him how it was done! I couldn't see it through the tire smoke, but I am pretty sure he took a beating by his buds that were there with him.

..then of course everyone  also always gives me the light them up sign...5 years ago i wouldn't hesitate....with all the cops it ain't worth it anymore.......i remember a couple years ago..at our local main party strip....i had came down onto the strip..and their was at least 25 people on each side of the street  arms all in the air  cheering me on,,,ya it feels good.....p.s{ignore the blue coil wire and coil wiring[already cleaned up]

Tell him to meet you at the strip Saturday night, to race for pinks! And tell him that you are not the least bit worried. That will shut him up.
