One for the Paint Pro's
« on: August 02, 2007, 09:23:33 PM »

Has anyone heard about this "New" European Paint System { Water Based } that is Supposed to Replace ALL other Paints now being used Huh I was in my local Lordco parts store yesterday and I was told this is supposed to happen in 2008 but more likely before 2010 because of present stock supplies. This stuff is supposed to be sort of opaque when you mix it and as it dries it changes to the color that was selected. Kinda like a Poloroid picture developes. Supposed to be Very Tricky to mix and requires special spray booth to control drying. Basicly the End of DIY Painting and Good for the Enviroment . Is this all Bull Shit or the Future Huh

we will be going this route soon and yes it is true.

what probably is going to happen is just like ol Henry Ford said any colour as long as it is black, only the rich will be offered a choice.

ive been hearing this for 20 years........if it happens, no problem. the european paints are superior..... we just finished our wood floors with a water based urethane. same basic principle.

I have used water base for years, PPG and RM.
It works great, and yes you got to have a new spraybooth with a lot of air....
The funny thing is that both RM and PPG are american brands, but the stuff we get here in Europe is not the same stuff you get over there.
The good new is that you Americans will have some good and tried stuff not the bad water crap we got 10-12 years ago Dunno
