273 exhaust manifold ?
« on: August 03, 2007, 06:36:26 PM »

A friend of mine just picked up a '66 barracuda 273 2bbl. automatic. He does not want headers and was curious about the exhaust manifolds . Are the 273 commando exhaust manifolds different than the standard 2 barrel manifolds? He wants to put an aluminum 318 4bbl intake and a mild cam in to get a little more power.

No, all 273s for any given year had the same exhaust manifolds.

I used later A body manifolds ('73 Duster to be exact) and they dont have the huge elbow in them. Gotta change the headpipe, but you'll want a bigger set of pipes anyways. Wink

you better watch the intake some 273's used angled bolts so a regular intake wont bolt up. just FYI

66 heads had the same bolt holes as later LA engines. It's the 64 and 65 you have to watch out for.
