CA Duster 383
|
I'm starting to shop for adjustable shocks for front and rear of my 383 Duster. 1974 Duster 383/727/8-3/4 w/4:56 and it will be upgraded to S/S springs. Car is partially gutted, but with roll bar and other safety equipment is should weigh in around 3100=3200 lbs. The front end has /6 bars and factory disc brakes.
I've heard that Comp Engineering has a good 3 way adj shock for the front??
I am thinking Rancho 9000 5 way adj for the rear??
Open to opinions and comments.

IF YOU CAN'T FIX IT WITH A HAMMER YOU HAVE AN ELECTRICAL PROBLEM.

The Rancho's are a good choice. They have been proven on the track in many stock eliminator and bracket mopars, and oter brands. The comps are decent place to start, but there are better choices but more expensive.
Afcos are top of the line but very expensive. Strange also makes some good adjustable shocks that are more affordable.

I am running Koni adjustables on the front with good success, however, if I was going to do it over again I would by a shock that doesn't require partial removal for adjustment. It makes adjustment at the track and testing a lot easier.

I think they stopped making the Konis for A-bodies.
