I had a two pieces of trim polished and a couple small dings repaired and when I picked it up it looked all shiny and new
EXCEPT ONE THING
The buffer warps them. So if you look at it in a certain way you will see that it is wavy. It may turn out looking new and shiny but I bet it will be wavy.....

It can be done wrong just like anything else..if you want to know how mine looks come on over i'll be glad to show you. I'm not tyrying to be a smart ass just saying I don't have that problem on mine...my GTS is a 98.5 point car and took first at Mopar Nats. (a-body orginial) in 2005 with my trim work. (sorry about the bragging) Maynard

its not from buffing the trim. either the person working on your trim didnt know what they were doing or it was wavey to begin with. 90% of the time people dont know what the trim looks like when they get it off of there car, when a proffesional looks at it he can tell you whats wrong before he even starts.

i have had some success repairing stainless trim my self...if you are on a super low budget (as i usually am) it can be done with a vice a few various sized dolleys and screwdrivers...just have lots of patience...straighten it as well as you can by basically hammer and dolley work...the take a lead rasp, or really any file, and file down the high spots(you should be able to get it close enogh with the dolleys not to file through anywhere)...then work your way up from about 60 grt sand paper all the way through the 1000's that will get rid of the file marks...then HAND POLISH it...to avoid heating the trim too much...and it should look descent enough that anyone who is not a professional would never see the defections...it all depends on how long you spend getting it right....
