LAWFISH
|
OK, I am interested in knowing if anyone here names their cars? I do and am actually in need of a name for the 67 dart post 340-6 project and even the 440-6 Cuda vert clone. I found out a few days ago that my real 340-6 air cleaner will be damaged/hit by the hood in the dart, so I am going to trade it in favor of a repop and change it a bit with some custom paint and logo when I think  of one. Here is what I have names thus far with a couple of pics. This is what I have and names minus a couple that dont have names yet, This is LAWFISH in my signature for obvious reasons. Its a drag polcie car/ Barracuda, thus the law and the fish. It has its own logo which si also pictured below. I also have a 68 Roadrunner that I call 'DIRTYBIRD". I am putting on the RR decals that are the same size as the regular ones on this car, only they will be the ones pictured below the bird on the sides and back will be the DIRTYBIRD with the martini and cigar. The air cleaner will ahve the Coyote being beat down on it. A little corney but I like things different. The martini bird will actually be subtle until you look and the same size as the normal helmet bird. I need a name for the 67 Post dart. The previous owner, my old patrol Sgt. replaced the D in dart on the side with a ford F, thus it was a F.A.R.T. for years but he called it EGGBERT as that is what his little daughter, (now 26) called it when she was a small child due to its name. I may even keep that for osparity sakes. What do you guys/gals name your cars and whu. Anyone do custon logo, small paint scheme, emblem, decals, ect, if so, lets see them. I dont think I am the only one here tired of seeing the same ole cudas, challengers, ect day after day. Pertsonality is cool, what did yu do different. Does anyone know who makes custom lemblems like or close to the originals, like the 440-6 emblems, Roadrunner emblems, ect. Show us your rides.Whats sets you apart from the veryday hemi cuda, Dart or what ever your ride is. LAWFISH LAWFISH LOGO

Love the RR art. The martini and cigar are cool. Here is Black Thunder in the back ground(7.3L 4" pipe no muffler). The neighbor calls the Olds the OLDA$$MOBILE.

The 69 dart I sold last month was known as the Green Hornet. It was geen and ugly. My buddy had an orange 70 duster called the Bat Mobile but I don't really know why. When I was younger (teens) all our cars and trucks had names. The one I remeber most was my buddies Satellite which was called the Shuttle Craft. This was around 1975 before the space shuttle. Then there was our ramp truck, 1949 GMC known as the Green Snot. It was also green ..... and ugly. It carried a lot of cars to the shredder and never complained.

My 99 Ram is known as "Yellow" for obvious reasons. My 66 Coronet is known as "The Bankers Toy" because I was in the banking business for over 32 years My son's 72 Dart Swinger is known as "Christine" because everytime I think it's finished, the car finds something else for me to work on. As corny as it sounds- Franken'Cuda is what I'm kicking around. Just because it's built with parts (sometimes hacked apart, made to fit and not real pretty) from everything imaginable. I want to have some art work done like Lawfish, but with a Frankenstein type fish- bolts sticking out the neck and all. And then put it in a bumble bee butt stripe like a Super Bee.

I have names for all of my stuff. My daily driver is a custom '88 B250 van that is known as "Cobalt Dreams" as every thing is done in different shades of dark blue and I still dream of getting the damn thing done. The Duster I have is known as "Half-Breed". It's design is to be half Pro Street, half Street Rod. FI tunnel rammed stroker BB with suicide doors, RHD, and sitting low. inside and out will all be done in various two tones... Last is the chopper of a '79 Hnoda 750 SOHC known as "Minute Rice" because of a joke. I asked it's former owner if it went any faster on "Minute Rice" than "Uncle Ben's". Name came with the bike when I bought the baskets....

The '73 Swinger (mist green) was christened "Booger" by her kids because, well, it looks like a booger I guess The '67 convert has always been 'Da Vert' though over the past 4 years it should have been changed to 'paperweight' The 88 Dakota is the Frankentruck. Motor/trans from a 78 Aspen, rear from a 79 Volare wagon, rad from a 96 Dak, manifolds from a 03 Dak, ign from the 67 convert, wheels from a 79 D-100.

This thread reminds me of two other names for various things. Had a Honda CB 180 (I think it was) back in high school. Me and my buddy Andy were able to put a AMX Harley front triple tree on it and get it running. The geometry of the thing was all screwed up and when we jumped it at the hill on our schools field it almost always ended up in a spectacular crash. We called it the "Badlander" Dart Vader made me think of the other. I decided that my porno actor name (just massaging my own ego again, I still ain't gettin' any ) would be "Tighty Whitie"

the one below " It's the Little old Lady from Pasadena " the rear licence plate frame says " Go Granny Go Granny Go Granny Go " I name the race engines I work on for the team I'm with we have "Pipey" cause it's turned 9,300 rpm, and dynos more Hp and a little less torque than, " Torky " who makes a lot more torque and " Nutted " and the spare that is kept for emergecy that we dont rotate in or out of the car is called "Pimpy " cause it's not the big horse the other 3 are. I am very happy to not name any of them "Scattered" yet

The main names i call it is the McQueen and the Demon names.
I have a custom logo i did for the car at the house i used the scat pack bee but made it my own ti will replace the front side strip where ti comes 2gether instead my little devil will go there.

I haven't built a relationship with my roadrunner yet because it hasn't been built, but I had a 1980 T/A a while back that was all black with black window trim, lowered, moon discs. I used to always drive it wearing a Schott Racer leather jacket. Looked right outta Mad Max. Everyone dubbed that car the Pursuit Special.
Everyone called my 69 Charger the Yellow Monster because it smoked N50's through three gears.
They call my Yukon the Urban Assault Vehicle.
Come to think of it, I've never named my own cars. My friends always tag them for me.

'Poison" as in Poison Dart, this was the name of my late '71 swinger but the name will be carried on to the '68 when the time comes I did have a art Logo but it has since been lost in the computer crashes and I failed to copy backup Disc. if anyone still has this floating around out there I sure would like to re-gain a copy of it, remember it was the one I used when I signed up back in 2003. it looked like the Super Bee but it was a Dart like what you would throw>>. it was my signature at the bottom for many years. anyone happen to copy it? it kinda look like this prototype,

I'll never ever forget the time I was driving down 135 and spotted a black 77 or 78 Trans Am with weld wheels and some kind of pink graphics down the side. I pulled up alongside and it was a skinny indian kid and the words champion lover down the entire side of the car in big hot pink letters. I almost crashed from laughing so hard.

I have not named my Dart yet, but "SNOWBALL" is its name unnoficcially. I keep referring to it as "PROJECT SNOWBALL," I guess I could also call it "Might-as-well." My truck have been named "LAWDOG" by my buddy (It had a huge sticker across the front windsheild when I bought it, I scraped it off but you can still see it burned into the tint). My old 95 Dakota was called FASTDAK, I even had the licence plates for it.
