'68 Dart GTS hood shakes side-to-side when running
« on: August 14, 2007, 06:49:10 PM »

It does not go up and down at all. There is side-to-side shake. I am pretty sure all the bumbers (newer repop) are all there. Is there an adjustment, or could I be missing a bumper?

It's a 440 w/ Schumacher motor mounts & torque strap.

Do you have the bumpers on the side of the fenders? My car does that also, but it is a race car(for now) Grin

I posted this question in the wrong forum.

I will take some pics today. I think alll the bumpers are there.

Maybe the torque strap is too tight.

 Are there only 4 bumpers?

Raise the front bumpers.  They're adjustable and it looks like they're too low in the pic.  Nice car!

Check the gaps, if the fenders are spaced too far apart, the bumpers wont contact the hood.

I say raise the bumper on the front also. These help to hold the hood tight.

I adjusted the bumper on the front, and also added these pieces of radiator hoses inside the bumpers to help stiffer them. Now it's rock steady.
