Streetmaster Headers
« on: August 16, 2007, 09:17:13 AM »

Several years ago I read an article about Big Block+Early A-body swaps. Among other things the article mentioned a company named Streetmaster that produced headers and mounts for the swap. The headers they showed were under-chassis and looked pretty wild. Are these guy's still around? I've done a little searching but cant find them.

I have the prototype headers from that article. I bought the 63 Valiant from the article years back in MN. Streetmaster mounts and all with the 440 that is going into the 65. They never put them into production, so I have the only set!  Rob

Going into the Valiant. Believe me Joe, I've tossed around the idea of cranking off a run of these several times.  Time and $ is the thing. I'd like to get the Valiant closer to done so I have detailed pics of these in the car with the 440 in with the headers. I'm not sure if StreetMaster is stilll in business. I'll have to look for the # in my car file. I'd like to score a few sets of motor mounts for future projects. There is a few early A projects that I would like to do. Here is a pic of the 440 with the headers in the 63.

Early As were mostly disgarded as daily drivers and there are not many nice ones left. They go like stink with a stout small block, but the big block shocker is the ticket for me. Ask Joe about his underwear cleaning bill. I'm sure he has some good stories from when he had his.
