Thinking of downsizing from MSD 7AL-2 and going Summit Brand
« on: August 24, 2007, 05:41:03 PM »

I was looking at going a different route. I just seen Summit has a line of ignition box's now as well as billet distributers. You can pick up a better version of a 6AL for 159.00 and what looks like a badass dizzy for B-RB's for 215.00 anyone use these, any comments? my reasoning is coils, I cant seem to get a straight answer on a good coil for my 7AL-2, it will be street driven from time to time but will be a weekend dragger......

i use Cranes ignition and they gave clear instructions on wire type and coil types and how to wire them ect.

MSD should have the same program.

i decided on mine because of the integral rev limiter.

I think I might have overkill with thhis ignition box. I probably should have gotten something where I didnt need to spend $200 on a coil so I could drive it on the street with some reliability....I was told I could us a standard coil but it eats them up if there is any street driving being done.

The Summit is just a re-badged Mallory, good stuff. I have been looking at it myself.
