Any feedback appreciated.

I would say yes. As long as the two types don't have any properties that are not compatible. If you know what's already on the repair check the labels or MSDS of the two. If the initial coat is totally cured it probably won't matter anyway. Why not just get rid of what's already on there?

It usally isnt recomended, mostley because some fillers actually dont get hard as others. For instance (bondo)brand filler gets as hard as a rock and is hard to sand.brands like rage gold or basecoat clearcoat dont get as hard, and sand awesome.Just remember a quality paint job starts at the bare metal and works it way out.

Yes you can, but they must sufficiently dry (cure) if they are not specifically made to work with each other (all one brand). Dont skimp. A gallon of Bondo cost about $15 at a parts store, I paid $23 for Evercoat at a paint supply store. An extra $8 for really good stuff.

The real question here is since you didn't explain very clearly. Are you laying products over non sanded area? Rage Xtream is best for bondo repair. Sands great, easy to work with. They make fiberglass style as well for first anitial lay out then bondo perfered after words. For strength is my reasoning. Been a body tech/painter 20 + yeras now. Still loving my job! Mark
