Painted the 67 DART POST TODAY-PICS
« on: August 28, 2007, 10:32:29 PM »

Well, I am no pro but get better each time and especially if I use the nice 2021 PPG clear. makes it easier. I need to color sand it when I get time but here is the 67 dart post in its Q5 glory. Its bas coat is OMNI two stage with PPG 2010 or 2120 clear, their high end clear. I put a ton of clear on it.

I got lazy and didnt re mask it after putting the masking on a month or so ago and shooting the primer. So on one small little spot, the primer broke off the old mask paper and landed in the clear. I will have to mask that off, repaint the small spot and re clear it. And I found several small inperfections I MISSED during the hand blocking( ) but I will try harder on the next car as this is going to be a 340-6 driver, I added a pic of the motor.

Its hard to see it, in some of the pics there is a flash, in others, none so you can see the reflections better. This is the last of it as the door, deck lid and hood are already done.

I know some of the amatures like me enjoy the home paint pics.

I need to get this done so I can finish up the 68 roadrunner which is going in next. I ahve too because my 13 year old daughter says her 70 Belvedere is NEXT!!!

many more pics here for the guys who are interested link http://www.smithvalleymopars.com/67_hemi_dart.htm

Looks top notch.  I like the color.  It's not something you see everyday.
