Been there......but inevitably it's your car and your decision.........don't go by what I or anyone else says.
   So with that said......cowl's look good, but they are a copy of a chevy design.........6 pack is Mopar. Also, you better check for air cleaner clearance too, cowl hoods start low and get higher as they go forward to the windshield.

How 'bout the Hemi Dart hoodscoop or a sixpack? Gotta say I'm surprised how good a cowl scoop looks on a Dart, though.

i have the 6 pac on my dart, always loved the look. once i got it on the car, i dont like it as much, it gets that air in it and raises up and moves around too much for my liking at highway speed. freakes me out. its an aar hood too.  bills car has a nice looking cowl hood on it, i remember seeing  a pic. i could really care less about what kind of car the cowl came from if something works why not use it.

Personally, I wouldn't put a cowl hood on a mopar.

Cowl hood. Tried running the six pack, but once you get up into higher speeds it tries to rip the hood off of the car. Plus, some Heads Up classes don't allow forward facing hood scoops. And its not just a chevy design, if you look at a 70 Roadrunner hood, some of them have cowl type hood scoops..........

I run the Hemi hood scoop when I'm running the oldie races and a prostock scoop when I'm running regional events on the 68 Dart.I also have a cowl hood on the 67 Dart.Pictures at myspace.com/womanatorjoe

I'm normally a purist when it comes to this kinda stuff, but I have both, and faught it out mentally, and came to the conclusion that there is less hassle with driving, in rain, in dusty situations, etc. with the Cowl induction. Besides, look at the pic's, either cowl or Hemi, the 6 pk just doesn't look right; asthetically speaking of course.

I'm sorry guys, the cowl induction hood is just flatout evil looking on a Dart. Seeing it on the car changed it's visual personality from "I'm going to get you!"  to "I'm going to get you, your kids, your family and your cat! And then I'm going to eat 'em!"  I say it added to it where the 6 pk makes a Dart look like a mini RR.

I've seen a cowl hood on a Mopar, but never have seen a six pack hood on a Chevy.   

The above statement does not help you one bit.

Cowl!  Purists should stick to restos - not hotrods!  I've had both sixpak and now the cowl and the cowl is much more functional.  I'm with jamesdart - that sixpak scoop was just about to explode on more than one occasion!

Cowl hoods like those on late 1960's Z28s were used to make more horsepower.

The old cowl induction hoods used raised center section that ran back to the base of the windshield. Instead of having the opening on the front of the hood scoop, it was on the back. 

This allows the carb to pull its air from the relatively high pressure area at the base of the windshield, providing a very mild passive supercharging effect and possibly a few more horsepower.

sorry cowl hood. I don't like the efects of high speeds on a six pack hood. plus the cowl doesn't look like a smashed bucket. In regards to the hemi hood it costs you 2/10ths to run that parachute on your car. Go cowl and never look back

I like the six pack hood on my 72 dart but i would have to agree that at around 70 it starts worrying me it looks like it wants to go flying off but i do like how it looks standing still but i guess that isnt the best idea for a car i drive everyday

This is what I was waiting for someone to point out. I would figure that, compared to a cowl, a scoop would produce large amounts of drag...
