I have a 72 swinger with front disc brakes and 4" bolt pattern. What do i need to do inorder to change up to the 4.5" bolt pattern. Can I use the same spindles and control arms and just change up the rotors? ?

sacrid bird maybe I think he means Scarebird I just strolled through their site, but I didn't see it. I have seen the stock rotors redrilled, guy had Moser do them. That's probably the way I'll go.

Get a conversion kit that is from a 73-76 a-body.
You'll need the upper control arms as well because the late model A's have a bigger ball joint than 72 and earlier.
I may have a kit with upper arms available.
Scarebird might have something, but you already have disc on the car.

Get the upper control arms, spindles, calipers, rotors, master cylinder, and the brake distribution block all from the same car. 73-76 A body. If its a 73-76 and it has front disc brakes it will be the large bolt pattern.

A-bodies since 1978, this one since 1983

Redrilling those rotor/hubs is not really an option due to the gaps between the rotor and hub. SSBC has a rotor with spacer that I believe is a 65-67 Mustang rotor (same bearings AND caliper).

I have the same problem on my 71 Duster, redone it several years ago with parts off a wrecked 71 340 Duster before knowing all the ins and outs. I am hoping that someone comes up with a conversion rotor that is 4.5" so I won't have to go the whole 73-76 conversion since I have already replaced all of the front end with brand new parts. Geez, you would think someone would have invented one by now.
