VF Coupe Project (Update 5th Dec 2007 track launch snaps)
« on: September 04, 2007, 09:19:02 AM »

Last month I began the panel / paint of my 1969 VF coupe.

It is an Aussie version of your Darts.

I have attached a few snaps of the progress to date.

Tonight I spent a few hours wire brushing the underbody.

Good fun!

I live in Wollongong which is 80km South of Sydney on the East Coast of Australia.

Good weather at the moment for this type of car work!

I am looking forward to seeing some colour on the panels!

I used to take the train down that way to watch Ausie Rules games.  It was about half that from Sydney. Our hangout was a place called the Woolamaroo Bay Hotel (sp)  That's where I learned how to drink VB instead of Fosters.

This oz set up i hate, it leaves you with no room for headers, a lot of our valiants have chassis rail rust where the steering box mounts, i believe the k frame are the same as yours because they come with the same offset, i guess this is why chrysler aust at the time decided to mount the steering box on the chassis rail.
K frame offset and right hand drive don't mix  Frustrated

VF nice work, what color you painting it and is the same 440 going back in?

I am painting it Vixen Red.  Which is a BRIGHT red with a black bumble bee stripe on the bum.

The 440 will be going back in.  It is just a mild solid cammed number with the usual add on's.

Hopefully paint body this weekend.

Cheers!

Finally got the paint on.  The photos dont really do it justice it isnt as cherry red as it appears it is more Hemi Orange than red.

Let me know your thoughts.

Sweet.

I read once that you weren't allowed to drive modified cars in Australia except at fairgrounds and such. Is that true?
