Well as per last post I got the bolts on's back but I have also been laid low with a pretty nasty flu.  Suffice to say I with a mate managed to start bolting the big girl back together today.

It is finally starting to take shape and I think all is going well so far.

I must admit the colour is thankfully being subdued with the chrome and other parts!!!!

The exact same thing happened to me when I painted my 69 Charger 76 Corvette Yellow. I stood back, looked at the car and thought Oh no, what have I done? Once I got the stripe, trim, grill and such back on, it looked a lot better.

Looking really good. I heard that the exhaust headers on those (RH drive) cars can be a real pain because of steering box clearance. What's your solution?

The headers are very tight and not as large as prefered. Over here a company called pacemaker makes a set good for approx 500hp only!

Also thanks for fixing the photos!

Cheers!

« Reply #47 on: November 17, 2007, 03:57:47 PM »

Over the past week or so the motor has gone back together and I have got the seats back from the upholsterers.  All went back in yesterday along with the bonnet.

I did upgrade to a new offset brake booster and in caused no end of head aches putting it in.

Cheers!

m8 those valve covers look like they are too high with the val brake booster, I remeber I could only just fit a stock or low cover in there when I did convertions on the valiants,
shame cause they look nice colour coded with the rest of it

Yesterday I had some electrical and brake work done.

Last night I fixed a gear box linkage and a rocker cover leak which is now "mostly" fixed.

After 4 months, a panel and paint, new interior, rebuilt motor, new 3500 convertor,  new gear box and upgraded suspension, its is back on the road.

Thanks to all for the encouraging comments on the way.

It was a LOT of work but now well worth it.

Thanks!

Yesterday I ran the Coupe at the track.

All went well with 2 sub 13 sec 1/4s.

Best slip for the day attached.

I was in the Right hand lane or competitor #181

Motor is still together and running well.

Fingers crossed.

Cheers,
