68 or 69 gas tank in my 67 Dart

Probably a stupid question but…..  I have a 67 Dart and I wanted to move my springs in under the frame and not use a fuel cell in the trunk.  But the 67 Darts have the gas tank strap running across the car from one frame rail to the other.  This would definitely not allow the use of spring relocation kit.  I saw a post here of a 68 (or 69 can’t remember) and the straps for the gas tank run front to back.  If  I can use that setup I’m good.

My question is can I buy a 68 gas tank and will it fit in the same location?.  I will weld in the 68 type mounts.

P.S.  I ‘ve seen the rear mounts on the spare tire well but not the front mounts if anybody has pictures I would love to see how they are attached.  Thanks

the tanks are interchangable but the key here is the mounting strap locations. I have a 71 or 72 tank in my Dart that is a cloned 69 GTS but it is actually a 67 with the 67 tank straps.
