i don't think it can be done. maybe the shocks are wrong.is the rear end the same that came with the car?

They sound like b body shocks. I had some rears left over from a previous car and tried to fit them to the a body. It would fit if the sleeve were pressed out. Sounds like you were given the wrong parts.

They are for a late model 2wd ram, a fellow board member reccomended them for when the springs have been moved in, stock shocks are to short in this case...

i reckon changing them bolts are going to be real tuff. i suggest taking them back and not listening to that other fellow. use mopar's long race shock or a pair out of a big 70's new yorker.

I think your right Bob, luckily I only monkeyed up one of them, so I can return one, and I'll just order the Mopar ones, anyone got a part #? I know it's in the Chassis Bible but I dont have mine handy right now...Bob what was that saying about doing things once...or three times?  |

Ryan, I used the C-body shocks with the upper bushings with metal sleeves in them. I removed the sleeves and stock bushings and bought a new set of bushings from the HELP rack at the local parts store. Once I got them in (no small feat) I had to ream them slightly to fit the stock bolts. It was a lot of work, but they are on now and fit just fine. I have 3 1/2 inches of compression and 7 inches of extension with my SS springs. Why waste a perfectly good set of shocks?

I hate to waste them, but I can return one, and the other I'll call a learning experience, they came from Napa and I seem to remember them being like $17 each so it's not terrible....I'd try your idea but these have the sleeve top and bottom, and I have precious little time to work on the car lately as it is  |
