Dexron or 7176 synthetic
« on: September 19, 2007, 08:44:02 PM »

Ok, so I bought a used 440 P/up truck for plowing, with the old 727.  I changed the filter and adj. the bands. It looked like it might of had the Chrysler 7176 synthetic oil in it. I got out about 5 or 6 quarts when draining.
What would you guys put back in it? I was thinking of using regular Dexron 111, and keeping it changed often as plowing is kind of hard on them.

I wanted to change my fluid over from Dexron to synthetic in my 727. I was told by a friend who built my trans, that if you cant drain eveything, especially the converter, you should stay with what is in it now. Mixing the 2 is not a good idea. So whats in there now should be what you put back in unless you know for sure EVERYTHING can be drained completely.
