Getting the interior finished!
« on: September 24, 2007, 09:31:04 AM »

Here's a couple more of the barracuda.  I used dynamat throughout.  I used masonite to make the piece behind the seat and then completely sealed it with the dynamat.  Should be a pretty quiet car!

To do the entire interior, floors, firewall, doors, package tray and back divider, you will need
2 full boxes
.  The stuff isn't cheap at $190 a box but it works awesome.

Lawfish. . the thing is this.  I've had a couple cars in the past that I pretty much ran without any sound deadener because I wanted to get them lite weight for racing.  It worked well but you heard everything.  Squeaks, rattles, etc.  The exhaust resonance got pretty bad too.  I figure with the 572 Hemi and a dual 3" exhaust, it will be nice to hear a radio or be able to talk inside the car.  I guess as I get older, I make the cars a little nicer and offset the weight by adding more horsepower.

You will need 2 full boxes.  It'll cost about $400 to do but will be well worth it.

THere is an aluminum coater, self stick, roofing material that is similar to dynamat, http://www.cofair.com/peel_seal.aspx. I think it is about $100 a roll.

Oh yeah, it looks good so far.
