4 speed install questions??
« on: September 24, 2007, 11:47:01 PM »

Are the pedals for a 4 speed all the same in all A body? 1965 same as 1970? what floor hump to use in a 65? Will a blowproof bell housing work in a early A? Thanks.

63-66 pedals should interchange (maybe back to 60), 67-72 are completely different. Use a 64-66 floor hump and the floor will need to be massaged for a blow proof bel.

the 67 and up pedals wil work in a early A  i ran them in a 66 cuda for years,, i think  i had to tweak the brake pedal a tiny bit,, it couldnt of been much, its the Z bar and brackets that matter,,,,and yes a blow proof scatter shield will fit an early A  you need to find a  brand called ansen,,,,they have there own look,,they were made to fit the early A  floor,,,they came from that era,,,, i have one in my 66....  the lake wood will fit,,,but the Z bar bracketry  will need some mods to fit on a lake wood....

-67 to -75 hump will work also well. I took a hump from 75 Dart to my 65 Valiant. Works ok and easyer to find. I have 318 SB and 10½" bellhousing + 4spd in Valiant.
