12 v supply to headlight switch
« on: February 12, 2006, 11:27:09 AM »

I'm rewiring a 73 dart sport for wild383, the painless hl switch does not specify what ga wire to supply the switch with. I intially wired it with 14ga but after looking at the old harness I relized it is heavier ga. My '70 manual shows nothing larger than 16. The elect. diagrams cd that willie has does not show wire size. I feel more comfortable with 12 ga, I just wanted some opinions. Thanks. I hope to power up the exterior lights today.

67 Dart is 16GA from a junction fed by a 14GA wire from the fuse box. You should be fine with 16GA, but use 14GA if you would feel safer.
