Steering coupler question?
« on: October 02, 2007, 01:00:22 PM »

I am almost ready to fire and drive the demon for the first time in 7 years and i think I finally figured out the reason why i parked it in the first place.  My sector is all wobbly, I dont know what it is called, maybe the coupler? between the box and steering wheel.  Is this rebuildable or should I just hack it off and put a universal joint in it?  It is a manual box that will eventually see autocross duty?  thanks!  Oh and is that nut on the top of a manual box an adjuster for the worm gear and if so how do i adjust it?

The couplers are rebuildable - so don't hack anything off Smiley The adjust the box, loosen the lock nut, tighten the screw a little. While holding the screw, retighten the nut. Don't overtighten the screw.
