hey, im new here

i recently bought a 440 engine to put in my 1964 Plymouth valiant, the car originally has a 273 cu in

i was wonder what different things i would need to be able to fit the engine in my car

example, oil pan, headers and all that stuff

motor mounts...   schumacher sells them i think

oil pan.  i used a cheap chrome transdapt pan and it fit fine in my 64 valiant..


headders..  well your outta luck..  you'll have to have a set custom made if you want a set that fits nice.


don't forget a big block 727 and having to clearance the trans tunnel for it.

Here is our old one:


The transtunnel needs clearancing for a 727, I think it's a good idea to make enough room for it while you are at it, it makes working on the car easier. There is no ready exhaust, as far as I'm aware, so you have to either modify newer fenderwell headers or build custom ones. Here is our '66's engine bay:

The inner fenders have been removed and the front made stiffer with a bar, the right side shock support modified, and the top end of the shock moved slightly outwards for more room in the  .  The inner fenders in the pic are removable dzus attached aluminum pieces.
