Thoughts on a racing program
« on: October 08, 2007, 01:19:58 AM »

I would like input on other racers programs

This year I ran a 68 dart post

  496 ci,727 trans,dana 60 rearend with ladder bars

Goal for the year was to go rounds and dial in the car to be consistant

Today was the last day for me at the track

  Runs as follows

  9.716  9.714  9.718  9.709  9.716  9.698  9.723  9.715  9.653

Was running into a head wind all day and last run the wind died completly spoiled last run

Running a trans break and reaction times normally in the teens to the low thirty's

After running a transbreak it would be hars to go back to a footbreak car

1 chassis shop 1engine dyno shop 1 chassis dyno shop 1 machine shop

Ended up with 3-496 ci engines 2-727 trany's 4 sets of tires diff sizes

Have settled on a 1050 holley carb with a Indy intake with a 4150 base with a spacer that goe's to the 4500 carb, this dyno'd out the best

Alot of dyno runs.scaled car before each race

Learned about torsion bar jacking, spring rates, tire preasures

  I'm sure there's alot more,timing,jetting,staging,transbreak button height,skying the tires

Let me know what you have done
