If I adjust the torsion bars on my Dart for 1" clearance between the lca rubber bumper and the stop point , the torsion bar lever has 1/2" clearance to the bottom of the frame rail and the adjustment bolt has 5/8" of thread left measuring from under the bolt head to where it goes into the nut plate. It just doesnt look right to me. Could the torsion bars be indexed to the lca incorrectly? I just got the Dart driveable (440,4 speed) when I take it out and slam a couple gears and return to the shop sometimes one of the front wheels will be severly cambered neg. (like 3" in at the top) after sitting it will come back to vertical, any ideas whats going on here? The bars are 6 cyl. Thanks for any help you can give me, Dennis

when i had my /6 bars before i swapped to the .990 bars they were so inconsistent, one day they would be on the bump stops, the next their would be a 1/2 inch clearance, then i would crank them up with the clearance and drive it and they would be back on the stops, crank them up that last 5/8" and thats the best you can do without changing the bars, an old spring that has had 1500 lbs sitting on it for 40 years, would you act like new?
only thing i have noticed is when you make a sharp turn and stop before turning the wheels back, the front wheels do like to push in and raise the front of the car up, that could be what your seeing, the inconsistant torsion bars could be effecting the inconsistent alignment

Set your toe correctly. IF the toe is off far enough it will literally suck the front end down to the stops.
