Using newer buckets
« on: November 02, 2007, 11:46:28 AM »

I was reading the dart bucket seat messages from a few months ago that talked about using newer buckets from an Eclipse in a 1960's vintage Dart.  I have a '91 Plymouth Laser. Would those seats work in a '69 Dart? I've been searching for seats for 4 days straight and am getting desperate. This car was supposted to be finished today!

if you are looking for new seats ,try looking at A-1 performance seats. they are nice seats around  $300.00 . plus they have 4 point seat belts that fit like race belts, but have factory type latch. light ,easy to get on and off.      good luck!    jackie

I had those seats in a 69 Charger. I made brackets for the front mounts fron 2" angle aluminum. I tapered the cuts and painted them black. I also had the lumbar and the power for the driver seat working. They're actually very easy seats to work with.

Just about any seats can be made to work, the beauty of newer seats out of a donor is cheap! I'm putting 1995 Pontiac Sunfire seats in my Demon, after cleaning they look like brand new, comfortable and cost me $40...

I put laser seats in my 72 dart, I ended up with a 1/2" spacer between the floor and the rear inside track of both seats. Seats slid back and forth better with the spacer.  I find them very comfortable.  Plus they were only 40.00 at the pick n pull.

I like the PT cruiser seats myself. Just have not got a pair yet.
