I'm currently having my 68 Dart mini tubbed and not sure what tire size to run....
I'm wanting to run 295's on a 15x10" wheel....tq thrust.
The question is what series of tire should I run? 60 or 50?
I'm not opposed to running another size wheel and tire combo either.....I just need some meat on the back to keep her on the street. Yes she is a street car that might make a trip or few to the strip in the spring and summer months.
So pretty much anything along the lines of a 15" wheel and prolly at least 275-315 on the rear......
Also when u give the wheel and tire info LMK what size back spacing as well.
The reason I ask all these ?'s is b/c I'm getting my 8.75 narrowed and waht to narrow it around my wheels and tire size...So I need to buy them ASAP.
Thx in advance guyz!

I'd go with the tallest tire you can fit. Not only does it look really good IMO, but it also gives you a bigger footprint at the track. Get your rims and tires before you do your rearend. That way you can just stick them up in the hole and measure from there. Goodluck

I would go with a 28" tall tire, any taller and you will have clearance issues at the front of the wheelwell. A 275/60 will give plenty of traction with the right setup on the suspension, but if you really want to, go wider, it wont hurt if you keep it under a 345. If you plan to make long trips, you might want to consider the M/T Sportsman S/R street tires, not drag radials, but as a comprimise, the Nitto DR have good life, not great in the rain, but better than the rest.

28" seem really close for a drive dont u think? Although I love the look. I looks really tough.......
I'd really like some one to chime in that has 295/50/15 on their Dart...... I dont want it to be to sm b/c of rpm issues... I do have a extra 323 grs to run if need be as well.

345/55R15's If I had a second chance I'd go with 325s and that would be perfect. I'd have to get the measurements again as I don't remember exactly how wide the rear is.

Mine is a Dart Sport, so it has a larger wheel opening, I am running 325/50-15 MT radials with plenty of clearance. We plan on narrowing the rear on my sons Dart Swinger this winter so he can also run the same tire.

If you are going with 50 series tires, I would go with a 325/50/15/. They are a hair under 28" tall and look pretty slick. I'm assuming your Dart has the springs relocated. Here are a set of 325/50/15s mocked up on my 66. that looks great! how wide and how much work to fit? Thanks, the section width on 325/50/15s is about 13". All I did was minitub and relocate the springs under the frame rails.

The springs are moved under the frame, mini-tubbed, rear is narrowed, don't remember the exact amount as it was a B body rear. The wheels are 15x10 Weld with 3 1/2 " back spacing. This puts my tire centered exactly in my wheel well.

Rick55 - how much clearance do you have with the sidewalls and such? Did you have to do any trimming to fit those tires? If the car sat lower in the rear would the tires rub anywhere? If you have any close ups of the rear tire sitting in the wheelwell that would be cool. Always liked the shot of those big meats on your Dart Sport..

No trimming, no rolled fender. If the car sat lower the sidewall might rub the fender lip during flex in turns.
My car is in storage for the winter, I'll try to get some close-up pics and possibly take a measurement of the rear diff, wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface.

I was unable to get some good pictures, but I was able to measure my differential. It is 52" from wheel mounting surface to wheel mounting surface and 45" from wheel inside edge to inside edge.
