I'm presuming you have a late sixties early seventies Dart...if so, you should just simply pull it up and out it comes!
There are chrome bezels on the top of the bench seat held in by two screws and that's it. Inside the seat frame there are simple detent springs that fit into the notches on the headrest posts.

I had the lowbacks with headrests in my Charger. Yeah, just grab the chrome posts and lift real hard. There's like two detents that hold them in.
