Valiant's Painted and Home - *UPDATED Progress Pics*
« on: November 14, 2007, 09:23:25 PM »

Well, after a long wait the Valiant is finally home and painted. Thought I would post a few pics. The color appears red in the pictures but is actually orange (Tangerine Pearl) from 03 Pt Cruiser.  ANyways now the fun part begins - hopefully have the engine in tomorrow night.  (Ignore the dirt and water marks on the front of the car, ran into rain coming home from the bodyshop)

Thanks Guys. Yeah, I started laughing when I saw the "ORBS" after the ORB thread a few days ago  Grin

looks real good.

Grin The interior door pieces did get the "factory" treatment, but I had  the dash and steering column removed to be painted black - I like it better than the original gold and brown interior.

451,
Your car looks absolutely beautiful !   That color (code) has been used on a few different Mopars in the last few years, including the Charger Daytona and Ram Daytona.  On the Charger and my Ram it's called "GoManGo".   It's the color I was planning on using for my Cuda.  I love it and also wanted my car to be unique.   I guess the secret is out on that color though, as I'm seeing more and more cars show up this color.

She's a beauty.   Are you going to use any matte black trim on it?   Matte black goes REAL NICE with that color.  Damn, I just gave away another secret !   \/][

Congrats on getting the paint on her.  It's a lot of fun (assembly) from here on...

CudaSRT8, I didn't know the GoMango was the same colour as the Tangerine Pearl (PVE), I knew they were close - but seeing them on the street and at shows - it's hard to tell as they change so much in different light conditions. Got any pics of the Ram in GOMango?

451,
No, I don't have pics of the R.Daytona, but check out any '06 (I think) Charger Daytona or '05 Ram Daytona.  Was also used on about '02 PT Dream Cruiser and one year (about '01 or so) Prowler.   They have a color similar on the Viper, but it's definately not the same (much lighter).   I had suspicions about it's multiple use and when I looked up the paint code on each, found out it's the same with a different name applied.   Oh, and I recently saw it on an '08 quad cab Ram 1500 without any special package and an '07 or so (what's that replacement for the Neon?).

The reason I'm up on the color is it kinda pisses me off when I see Chrysler use it too much.   It sorta dilutes the uniqueness of my Datyona.   I'm not so concerned when they use it for one year on some other model, but seeing it on an '08 Ram upset me a little.  Oh well, it's Chrysler's perogotive with how they use it I guess.

It really does make your Valiant look unique and special.   Good choice.  I guess by the time I get my Cuda done, GoManGo will be old news!     \/][  Whatever, I still LOVE the color.   Can't wait...

Thanks for the encouraging words guys. For a while there it was frustrating while it sat idle at the body shop, it's hard to not lose interest when a project grinds to a halt . BUT now that its back I've got tons of ambition. So since getting it home Wednesday the engine trans and fuel tank are in. The rear bumper is on and adjusted and I threw the front "skinnies" on for fun - so I thought I would post a few more pics:

CudaSrt8, I hope it doesn't become too popular either.  I saw it on an '02 PT and checked the paint code - it was PVE.  When the GoMango came out I thought it was a different color from the Tangerine Pearl, but you're right - it's listed as PVE also, so I guess there the same.  Don't forget to show us pics when your Cuda gets painted!
