new dart addition
« on: November 16, 2007, 12:16:04 AM »

i know its been a while since posting here and thought i would post the newest addition to the mopar family.  a 66 dart 4 door wagon.  i for some reason started liking wagons after me and the lady picked up a 65 wagon about a year ago.  i got it because of the high options and documentation that came with it.  from the factory it came with a 273, p/s, a/c, disc brakes, and tinted glass.  i got the window sticker, application for certificate of title, payment voucher for deposit on may 20, 1966, and service records from where it was sold at bill breck dodge in tuscon arizona @ 3030 east speedway blvd.

Cool car. Wagons are great.  That's all my family ever owned growing up (7 kids)  I ran a few wagons when I was a kid simply because if you could get a roller wagon with good brake/suspension etc. that wasn't rotted out for free you could drop your good engine in it and drive.  I would love to get my hands on one of those 65-66 wagons now.

yeah man, i love wagons.......i always wanted to shorten one; eliminating the rear door, and using the longer 2 door doors. i never really looked into it, so i may be making an  moon of myself. it wouldnt be the first time  Cool

its going to be the shop wagon.  maybe make it a hotrod wagon.  not sure.  i already pulled the gay og hubcaps off and put some doggies on it.  the idea of a 2 door wagon sounds sick, but i would do it to a bare bones one.  whatever i do to this will only be bolt on.

Dart wagons are cool. They are built on the short Valiant wheel base, not the longer Dart wheel base... most of the extra weight is behind or on top of the rear wheels. 4 speed

How about using the 2dr sed or HT doors and make a 2 dr post or HT wagon GT on the stock w.b.  !nanr

I saw a 64 or 65 Coronet 4dr made into a 2dr in a mag. very interesting.

thanks guys.  i am not going to start on it for a while since i have to finish the cuda first.  anything i do to this car will be bolt on only since it is a highly optioned, well documented car.  i even think i will paint it original color instead of black.

That's cool, I would leave the outward appearance exactly the way it is, drop in a bigblock, mini tub it (but get some wheels with all the offset to the inside so you could re-use those hubcaps), and some quiet mufflers. I have a 4 door 62 dart that I want to do in that way
