i chemical strip the external skins, and sandblast the rest.......i use paint stripper to remove undercoat, as sand seems to bounce off it.......i want to look into blasting soda with my machine, not sure if i can. the soda wont remove rust, so i would be doing some sand blasting anyway.

Depending where you live, there are mobil sand/soda blasters that can come out. A good blaster will use a combuination. My local quoted that he would use soda to remove the paint, and glass to remove rust and filler, then a-oxide for the undercoating. He quoted 130/hr in DFW.

I had the undercoating blasted off w/ combination of sand/glass/plastic...worked great, no warping at all.   I wouldnt use chemical stripping again (messy, toxic, burns skin, adhesion problems).

You can buy a cheap blaster gun from Eastwood or Harbor Freight and it would work, air compressor is obviously needed.  It's a mess, but I have done it in the driveway in the past.

I had the underside, engine compartment, floor, front wheel wells done (professionally) for less than $200 bucks.....well worth it IMHO

I rented mine from Call O Tool local here.It rents all type of equipment. Bob Cats/ Ditch Wench / back holes etc.I called around to U-Haul and places like that they did not have it.Some Ace Hardware stores will have one.Check a local co. near you that rents tools and equipment.Home Depot / Menards and Lowes sell small blasting tanks.
