Which hood.......
« on: November 27, 2007, 07:40:47 AM »

.......do you guys use on your BB conversions into the dusters. Mine is the 73 Duster and with the 440 sitting down in the bay on schumaker mounts ,the hood aint gonna work. For a breather i have a MP and it's setting on a 750 DP Demon on top of an Offy DP alum intake. Nothing on it is high rise. Looks like i'm going to have to do some cutting with maybe a scoop. What's the fix?

Will an air cleaner assembly with a drop base give you enough room?  I used K&N drop base on my 68 Valiant with a Perf RPM intake and have 1" clearance under the hood , but it's a low deck, you may need a scoop to clear with a 440. The K&N drop is available with 1 1/4" drop.  Ialso used a K&N filter top and with an angled top it still fits.  I tried the MP on mine and it wasn't even close to fitting.

The MP air cleaner is actually raised about 1/4 inch.
