Let us not forget the hottest band in the world...KISS. Spent many an hour with the headphones listening to this LP and dreaming of rockin' with these dudes on that wild stage.

I Knew Someone Out There Liked Weather report Other Than Me. BIRDLAND MAN. I'm right there with you on Weather Report! I saw them live here in Phoenix a long time ago when they were touring with Blood, Sweat & Tears (another band I grew up with and loved alot!) and they were absolutely FANSTAC!!! If you get XM radio, try listening to chanel # 71 and 72, as they play Weather Report ever so often. Richard

My personal favorite in my collection is the Iron Maiden Number of the beast LP - the cover artwork is on both sides of the vinyl itself encased in a clear sleeve for protection.

So Tom, I take it you like Iron Maiden? It's probably a welder thing. ski Seen them a few times. World Slavery Tour in '85. Somewhere on Tour '87. Ozzfest 2005??? Dave Murray and Adrian Smith with Steve Harris on Bass. Can't be beat. First time I saw Maiden they were opening for the Scorpions. A few years later, Metallica opened for them. Metallica - Now there's a band I saw quite a few times before they started to suck. Dave Mustaine rocked - and STILL kicks some major ass. Saw Megadeth just a few months ago, Dave is better than ever.

I'm far too lazy to dig out the camera right now, but Meat Loaf-Bat out of Hell picture disc Alice Cooper-School's out (the one that folds into a desk) Zep III with the wheel thinger Rolling Stones-Sticky fingers with the zipper on the jeans Beatles-White album (white vinyl) Did anybody mention The Cars-Heartbeat City? Somebody will know why I think this album cover rocks.... I also have a Russian copy of Led Zeppelin IV. All the text is in Russian, if I recall, the mountain/hermit picture on the inside is the same or very similar, but on the front instead of the old man with sticks on his back, there's a dude standing next to a shack in the woods with a mug of beer. I'll take a picture tomorrow (provided I remember) and post it...kinda neat. I'll have to dig through my collection. I'm probably forgetting some cool ones.

Yea, a 71 duster 340 on the cover. shouldn't have been named Heartbeat City though (too close to heartbeat of america) On offensive covers - I have one that I have forgotten about for many many years since I went all digital in 97. Now that I have kids, daughters especially, the album is MUCH more offensive to me than when I was 9. Ok, I seriously doubt I was offended at all at 9! But now??? Can you guess? Scorpions - Virgin Killer. The original cover is the one I bought, not the one they replaced it with a VERY short time later. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Virgin_Killer

I used to paint album covers on the backs of denim jackets for 20 bucks in high school. I was also a big Frank Frazetta fan.
I have a pic that I took of a couple of co workers at a barbecue. We call the picture the album cover. If you guys want a good laugh, someone who knows how to post pics give me an e mail address and I'll email the pic to you.

Just need to mention Slayer, The Dead Kennedys, Black Flag, Screwdrivers, G.G Allen, Mentors, The Accused, SOD, Pennywise, Minor Threat, Naked Violence, and DRI of course! These bands got the motor going.

Quote from CD universe: In 1969, Pink Floyd was invited to compose a soundtrack for French filmmaker Barbet Schroeder. The result was MORE, a collection that doubled as Floyd's first full-length record following the departure of founding member Syd Barrett. Unlike most soundtracks where composers are content to write one continuous score, Floyd instead focused on creating actual songs to go along with a handful of instrumentals. The last one that I saw went for a few good bucks on E-Bay. Rob

From "Pink Floyd History"
In 1968, the band continued on without Syd. This was a major tragedy in England, but not in America. Another major tragedy was when David Gilmour's Telecaster was stolen in Chicago. Later that year, the band played a gig in France, and one of the attendees of the show was famous French hippie movie director, Barbet Schroder. He asked Pink Floyd to do the soundtrack to his next picture, More, which would come out in 1969. The band also had an unreleased rock opera the played on-stage, called The Man and The Journey, which they took 3 songs from for the More Soundtrack; Sleep/Nightmare (which would become Cymbaline), Green Is The Colour, and Death (which both parts of the song became both Main Theme and Dramatic Sequence).
The album and movie would be a success in Europe and Britian. The band retired The Man and The Journey before being recorded, but used one song from the album called The Narrow Way. Barbet Schroder would ask the band to do another soundtrack for another movie in 1972 called La Vallee, known in America and Britian as The Valley Obscured By Clouds.
Rob...Man, I love the Floyd.

any Zappa fans?
I liked Frank, but some how, I never ended up buying any of his albums. ![\/][](http://www.bigblockdart.com/Smileys/classic/finger020.gif) Richard Here's some more pictures of the very hard to find Rolling Stones album with the REALLY cool 3D type front cover. It has a raised hard plastic section containing the art work, rather than the normal flat art work like most of the copies of this album had. I don't know how many of these special versions were made, but I've never seen another one other than mine. I don't know if you know it or not. Most people don't but hidden in the picture are all four faces of the Beatles. They aren't all together they are spread out individually. You have to have it in fairly good light and move it around looking at different angles to see them.

Alice Coopers 'Schools Out' album in it's first pressing came with a pair of panties. They came in 3 colors (I think it was only 3) white, green or pink. The copy I have they are white.
